I find it hard to believe as I write a new bio for my 8th salon location in a career as a business owner and stylist that 30 years have passed since my initial hair college training. What I have learned in this lengthy and fulfilling career is that a passion for the craft is important. But more important is how you treat your guests and how you make them feel. This has been the key to my long term success in the hair industry.
I love continuing to educate in my chosen craft and my training is a lengthy list. My most influential training has been 4 sessions in Santa Monica at the infamous Vidal Sassoon Academy. Here I learned how to fine tune my techniques and create styles that literally flow all on their own using the natural texture of each clients individual hair. A cut experience in not possible in 15-30 minutes. I prefer to consult, relax the guest with a luxurious scalp stimulating shampoo and massage and then cut and style to perfection. When dried a second internal cut takes place to create inside texture and movement so that your style performs through to your next cut.
I also love the art of colour and texture services to enhance the cut. I believe in beautiful and healthy hair. If a desired service could hurt the integrity of a guest's hair I will adamantly advise against the service. It’s your hair and my reputation. I want you to be classically beautiful. I specialize in precise cuts and am a master at naturally curly hair, beautiful colour, and pride myself on classy service while also having a great laugh.
When not behind the chair you will find me competing with trained chefs in my own kitchen, gardening, and playing my grand piano. I am also a self published author of a novel “39 Days”, which is a memoire of my personal survival of an illness that actually took my life twice. How I survived and conquered a 39 day covid intubation and lengthy post illness.
